Steph Curry ‘agrees new $63MILLION Golden State Warriors contract’ after USA Olympics success

Steph Curry has agreed a new one-year, $63million contract with the Golden State Warriors, according to reports.

Curry, 36, sealed another historic achievement this summer after inspiring Team USA‘s gold-medal triumph at the Paris Olympics.

And on the back of his heroics in the French capital, the legendary point guard is set to be rewarded by Golden State.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski claims he is on the verge of signing a Warriors extension that will bump up his league-high salary by another $7m.

The new deal keeps him on the their books through the 2026-27 season, which will mark 18 years with the team after he was selected with the seventh overall pick at the 2009 NBA Draft.

Curry is widely considered one of the greatest NBA of all time after winning four championships in Golden State and setting the record for the most three-pointers in history with 3,747.

Earlier this month the Ohio-born star added an Olympic gold medal to his collection when his sensational 24-point haul helped secure a 98-87 win over France in the Paris final.

During and after the victory he mocked the hosts by performing his trademark ‘Night Night’ celebration on the court and then wearing a hoodie with the French translation of ‘Nuit Nuit’ emblazoned across the front.

USA was able to hold off France behind Curry’s 24 points as a star-studded group including LeBron and Kevin Durant thwarted a late rally from the hosts.

The Americans led by as much as 14 in the fourth quarter but saw that advantage dwindle to just three after a Victor Wembanyama tip-in with just under three minutes remaining.

From there, Curry caught fire as he hit four three-pointers from the 2:48 mark on to see USA to the gold.

His final dagger came during a broken play with 35 seconds left, when he heaved in a three-pointer over the arms of Evan Fournier and Nicolas Batum to restore the lead to nine.

After the Olympics, Curry made a shock appearance at the recent Democratic National Convention to endorse Kamala Harris as the next US President.

While wearing his medal he opened up on the ‘honor’ of capturing Olympic glory before adding in a prerecorded video message: ‘That unity on and off the court reminded us all that together, we can do all things and continue to inspire the world.’

Curry then continued: ‘That’s why I believe that Kamala as President can bring that unity back and continue to move our country forward. This is about preserving hope and belief in our country, making sure families can be taken care of during the most precious times.

‘I got to visit Kamala with my team at the White House last year and I can tell you one thing I knew then and definitely know now… the Oval Office suits her well.’
